Published: 2 September 2026 · Jon Wright
Who ultimately pays for the Western Bypass — and will it actually solve the transport problems created by the development of south of Stratford?
Cotswold District Local Plan – Mickleton
Regulation 19 consultation · MAID objection
The Cotswold District Local Plan proposes 1,387 new homes at Mickleton, including a 1,238-home strategic extension. This representation by Mickleton Against Inappropriate Development (MAID) sets out objections relating to the scale of development, transport, infrastructure, sustainability, landscape, heritage and cross-boundary impacts on South Warwickshire.
How to submit an objection
The Regulation 19 consultation closes on Monday 5 October 2026.
MAID has provided the objection document below for residents who wish to respond to the consultation. You can email the completed objection to planning@cotswold.gov.uk and request that it is uploaded to the Regulation 19 public consultation planning portal.
Please also ask Cotswold District Council to provide acknowledgement of receipt.
The MAID representation requests that the Inspector finds the proposed Mickleton allocations unsound and sets out suggested modifications, including reassessment of the scale of development, transport modelling and infrastructure capacity.
